Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon & Joint Replacement Surgeon

Brian Solberg, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and the founder of LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Dr. Solberg specializes in the treatment and management of complex fractures, including those of the pelvic ring and acetabulum, nun-unions, and malunions. He dedicates himself to help patients recover from acute injuries or chronic pain through compassionate care.

Dr. Solberg earned his Bachelor of Science in chemistry with honors at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. He earned his Doctor of Medicine with honors at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and went on to complete a surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale University School of Medicine, Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.

Dr. Solberg continued his education with an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the University of California, Davis, focusing on complex fracture management, pelvic, and acetabular trauma, and care of multiply injured patients.

Dr. Solberg is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, California Orthopaedic Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, and the Yale Orthopaedic Association. He is also a member of the AO North America faculty, where he presents educational presentations.

Dr. Solberg has published in several industry publications, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research. His research interests include biomechanics fixed-angle plating techniques and the treatment of osteoporotic fractures and clinical outcomes of proximal humerus fractures in osteoporotic bone.

When he’s not treating patients at LA Orthopaedic Specialists or presenting research, Dr. Solberg enjoys spending time camping and being outdoors with his wife, Dr. Pam Solberg, and their two beautiful daughters, Devon and Alexis.

Reginald Alexander, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. He is passionate about helping athletes heal and specializes in the treatment of sports injuries, including rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, femoral acetabular impingement (FAI), ACL reconstruction, and cartilage preservation.

Dr. Alexander earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at Howard University in Washington, DC, before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from the Howard University College of Medicine. He completed his medical residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals in Illinois and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Prior to joining the team at LA Orthopaedic Specialists, Dr. Alexander spent time at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, studying the effects of leucine on adipose tissue and skeletal muscle, and at the University of Pennsylvania, also in Philadelphia, investigating possible stem cell lines for pancreatic Beta islets using human and mouse tissue.

Dr. Alexander has served as the team doctor for several high school and college sports teams, including the University of Chicago, and football, track and field, men’s tennis, and women’s water polo at UCLA. He presented several lectures on rehabilitation after ACL injuries and surgery, elbow MCL injuries, and the cost of hip arthroscopy at UCLA.

Samer Alnajjar, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. He specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgeries and offers plastic surgery consultations at his office.

Dr. Alnajjar earned his Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Master of Public Health and Administration at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, before traveling to Grenada to earn his medical degree at St. George University Medical School.

He returned to Wayne State University for his general surgery residency and went on to complete two fellowships. The first fellowship was with the Department of Orthopaedics/Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. His second fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute through the New York State University at Buffalo earned him a certification in plastic and reconstructive surgery and head and neck reconstruction.

Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Alnajjar also holds a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery. He is a fellow of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and a member of the American College of Surgeons through his board certification in general surgery.

Dr. Alnajjar speaks fluent French and medical Spanish. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, traveling, scuba diving, and sports, including baseball, golf, and football.

Husni Zayed, MS, PA-C, is a certified physician’s assistant at LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. He specializes in patient-centered care to teens and adult patients.

Husni earned his Bachelor of Science in aeronautical and astronautical engineering at the University of Illinois in Urbana before moving to Texas to earn a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He then changed course to pursue medicine, earning a Master of Science, Physician Assistant at Idaho State University in Pocatello, after which he completed his clinical rotations.

Husni served physician assistant clinical rotations all over the United States that included emergency medicine, internal and family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, psychiatry, and general orthopaedic surgery. Upon completion of his clinical rotations, Husni began his professional experience as an orthopaedic physician assistant at a North Hollywood orthopaedic practice in California.

Dr. Pannell was selected to travel to Davos, Switzerland during his fellowship training under the AO Trauma organization, the world’s leader in the research and surgical treatment of fractures. During a week-long course titled “Tips from the Masters”, he had the opportunity to learn from world renowned orthopaedic surgeons in all aspects of orthopaedic trauma surgery. In addition to being a member of AO North America, Dr. Pannell is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.

In his free time, Dr. Pannell is an avid welder and machinist. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife, Dr. Stephanie Pannell, and their dog Popcorn.

Tiffany M. Chin, DPM, is a board-eligible podiatric surgeon at LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Dr. Chin specializes in surgical and nonsurgical treatments for the foot and ankle, including the treatment of foot and ankle injuries and deformities, bunions, hammertoes, flatfoot, cavus foot, ankle arthritis, and joint reconstruction.

Dr. Chin completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of California, Davis majoring in Biological Sciences emphasizing in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior Science. She then earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with honors at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida where she was named to the Dean’s List and was honored with the President’s Scholarship and the Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society.

She then pursued a three-year integrated podiatric medicine and surgery residency with an added credential in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. During her residency, she accumulated extensive experience through training with world renowned surgeons in various subspecialties including pediatrics, wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and reconstruction of complex foot and ankle deformities.

Dr. Chin has a passion for helping communities in need and completed a surgical mission trip with the Yucutan’s Crippled Children Project organization in Yucutan, Mexico where she provided life-changing care to children who would otherwise not have access.

A member of several industry organizations, Dr. Chin is active with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association and the California Podiatric Medical Association and is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
